Trees in the Garden
By: Fatima Hill Casey Trees came to FPCS Blow Pierce to work with the 4th grade and plant trees. We were the first Friendship school to plant the trees during this holiday season. So if you want you can say we kicked the tree planting off for Friendship. If you wanted to know I was really looking forward to seeing the trees once I heard that I was picked to write this story. Well as you can see this story is going to be about trees being planted at my school. Now lets get into details about that day.
As I walk down the hallway with the photographer (Marcel Gallion)I think how am I going to ask my questions. When we got outside I am was shocked to see that the kids had already planted the trees out front , but they still had four trees to plant so we didn't miss out on much. In all the planted seven trees. As we walked around watching the kids plant they looked liked they were really enjoying planting the trees. Also as me and my partner Marcel were walking around the workers were telling the kids about the trees. So the kids were learning while having fun.
As we saw the kids planting the workers were giving them instructions on how to plant the trees. First they had to dig a hole to put the tree in. Then they were going to have to put the trees in the hole. Then put the dirt they dug up back so the tree could stand up right. As I was walking around with one of the instructors they told me that Casey Trees was going to come back and water the trees in a few months.
Some may ask why did they plant the trees. Well there are many reasons. One is of course to learn . Then you ask learn about what?Well they learned how to plant and also they learned about trees. Another reason they planted the trees was to be active and to help the community. A way the trees help the community is they help by like absorbing some of the pollution out of the trees (atmosphere). When I say they absorb the pollution I mean the trees literally suck the pollution up. They also give homes to our wood land creatures that live in trees.
Now that I have told you what happened I have to close. In all the experience of watching the kids was great. Although I bet planting the trees was even better. As the wind blew through my hair I smiled because I was so happy to write a story. I really had a good time and if I may say so myself my partner looked as if he enjoyed himself also.
