Amazing Autobiography: “Make Me Wanna Holler”

Review by Ali Abdul-Hakim.

JULY 26, 2017: So I just finished reading the old, but exciting autobiography, “Make me Wanna Holler” by Nathan McCall. It’s about him growing up in the “hood” of Portsmouth, VA in a two-parent household with three brothers. His mother and stepfather were a big influence, but he still got in trouble every now and then. He graduated high school, attended Norfolk State but then gets in trouble when he is charged with armed robbery and goes to jail.

I think this is a book that a lot of African Americans can relate to and it is also a book other people can read to see how it was for black people.
