Are You Tired of School Rules?

FEB. 24, 2017: Are you tired of uniforms, rules, and the long hours of the school day? Well, Woodridge's 7th and 8th grade students are writing a Declaration of Students in history class. This declaration is explaining that Wooldridge's expectations are getting a little bit out of hand because they are stating that students must have black, navy blue, or white sweaters. If students come to school wearing the wrong colored sweaters then, a teacher would tell us to take it off—no matter the temperature!

The second issue we have concerns the hours of the school day. The school day has increased by 45 minutes.  As students, we feel these hours are getting in the way of our childhood. We are tired of working eight hours with no sleep or breaks.

We feel the dress code and rules are too demanding. If the rules were changed then we would be relieved from stress. If the school ended at 3:15 pm, then we would have more time to complete homework and projects due the next day. What I’m saying is, “We need a break from all of these rules!”
