Blow Pierce Hosts its Very Own Festival of Lights in School’s Courtyard
Story and picture by Marquise Wade.
APR. 17, 2020: On Wednesday, December 18, 2019 and Thursday, December 19, 2019 the FPCS Blow Pierce Early Childhood Team hosted the Festival of Lights in the school’s courtyard.
The teachers and staff decorated the courtyard with holiday decorations and lights similar to how the zoo decorates for the holidays. Families and friends were invited to participate in this event after school on Wednesday and students and teachers who missed the Wednesday night display had the opportunity to come out during the day to see the lights on Thursday. The best time to see the lights was at night time because you could actually see the details and effects of the lights. However, the daytime walkthrough was not bad because they had inflatables, cardboard props, fake snow, and a bubble machine too!
Since it was cold out, being able to drink hot chocolate and eat snacks like hotdogs, pancakes, cookies, and brownies made the walkthrough a breeze.
If you missed this year’s Festival of Lights, lookout for the December update next year because this is a new annual event for the ECE team.
