C-A-N-C-E-R We Hate We Hate…

On October 11, 2024, the 8th graders at Friendship Armstrong made a big commotion on the street of their school, letting everybody know that they were ready to leave a final mark for a cause they have cared about for years now. They started their last year off right by attending the breast cancer walk which lets people know that they are here to help, support and fight.

Their goal is to help open eyes and ears to a problem society has been battling for years now, and that needs more help. That change may be you, or someone close to you, and it may be that the voice you were given was meant to be used for the good of everybody. Studies from the American Cancer Society show that in Washington DC, approximately 155.6 out of every 100,000 individuals die from cancer every year.

The 8th graders are an example of the significant impact that even a small community can have in advocating for change. By continuing our efforts and amplifying our voices throughout the year, we hope to inspire others and drive meaningful progress in our communities.
