On March 13, 2021, I rode in a jeep across the Serengeti Plains in Africa. I looked over the side of the vehicle and I saw a crocodile!
The day before my jeep ride, I was on my way on the “Air Tanzania” airplane to the Tanzania Serengeti Park. This is a safari park, an area of parkland where wild animals are kept in the open and maybe observed by visitors driving through. A few hours later, I arrived at an airport and went straight to the other tourists waiting to meet up with the tour guide, and I joined them. The tour guide told me and the two other passengers that we were allowed to take pictures of the animals (without flash on). In the distance, I saw a few elephants. I got some pictures of them. One of the passengers pointed to a crocodile! But to my surprise, it was taking care of its babies by picking them up with its mouth. In my mind, usually, crocodiles are trying to eat everything! A minute later I saw it carry them over into a nearby pool of water.
I had a lot of fun visiting the Serengeti plains. This is a really good trip and I enjoyed it because I got to see a crocodile on land which is really rare. And, many people visit these places to see the endless plains, the great migration of animals like wildebeests, and the great lion population. Here’s a link to some tours of the Serengeti plains.
