Does Joining Clubs and Representing Your School Lead to School Spirit?

September 28, 2022. A new year means new activities, new classes and most importantly, new clubs! This year FCA has a multitude of new clubs such as: Cross Country led by Mr. Richardson, the Poetry Club led by teacher and alumni Mr. Ramos and FCA Queens led by Ms. Stewart. Last year was many students' first in-person year at school, and it took some time for them to adapt to feel comfortable in the school environment. If you want to add some joy and fun into your school year, I, as a marching band member, would definitely recommend joining a school club.

From my experience, I've realized being in the band not only keeps me on my feet and more alert, but it also inspires me. By prioritizing band as something exciting after school, it motivates me to keep my grades up and my behavior on track. Not only do clubs help with grades, but they help you build up a support system. When I watched the football game on September 23, I couldn't help but root for our school. After all, I dedicated time to pick up a new instrument and skill for my school and team, so I couldn't help but cheer when I saw our team playing hard. Joining in on representing your school is definitely one way to be more involved during the school year.

I realized this was what pep rallies were for. As of this year, FCA has been having pep rallies every Friday to raise school spirit before games to cheer on our teams. Whether you're into robotics, athletics, or any other club representing your school, remember: this is your school, so walk with Friendship pride!
