Engineer Allyn Kilshimer Visits FCA

Story and photos by Alexander Santos.

On September 22, 2022, The FCA engineering class had a special guest visitor, engineer Allyn Kilshimer. He is a structural engineer who has worked on many projects, which include base building designs, tenant work, and work for the National Science Foundation.

He helped oversee entities in England, Ukraine, Kuwait, and Italy, and also designed over 200 office buildings. Kilmer came to FCA and talked to our younger engineers about his work, different bridge disasters, and how to make a stable structure. He also answered many questions that the young engineers asked and gave them a little bit of advice.

Student Rocquies Baker was grateful for the chance to meet such an experienced engineer. β€œHe is a well-rounded engineer and he worked on many projects such as the reconstruction of the Pentagon. It was an amazing experience.”
