FCA’s Cross Country Team’s Second Meet!

News Brief by Braylon Wims. Photo by Zachary Walls.

October 13th, 2021. FCA’s Cross Country team had it’s second meet. The same schools showed up from the last meet, but there were about 10-15 people fewer. This time we saw people going through pain, including ourselves. Little kids were crying trying to run up hills, and people were falling because of the little potholes, which wasn't much different than the last meet. Our cross-country athletes Braylon Wims, Tyleal Buchannan, and Jakari Powell had their times recorded again which were as follows:

50 Braylon Wims 40:53.12

47 Tylleal Buchannan  37:51.49 07

40 Jakari Powell 34:00.94

In comparison to our times from our first meet, Tylleal, and I had faster times and Jakari had gone a little slower. Our previous times were Braylon-41.56.06, Jakari-31.45.55, and Tylleal-  43.41.21.

As stated by Coach Richardson, “We faced some obstacles during our second meet, and as a team understood that we have more work to do in order to reach our full potential as runners. We’ll take the lessons from this meet and make strides towards greater times at our district championship invitational.”
