Can you guess what country made history on March 21st? Japan won their third WBC (World Baseball Classic) title. They won their first in 2006 and their second in 2009. This means they have won three of five World Baseball Classics that have taken place, making them the most decorated team ever.
The Japanese public was definitely elated when they saw their team win and were doing their celebration, dubbed ‘The Salt-Shaker when the final inning ended. I wasn't awake to watch them win, but still celebrated when I woke up for school the next morning. Even though I was still getting over the loss of the Dominican team, I was beyond happy for the Japanese.
I can't wait for the next WBC in three years, and my money is on the Dominican Republic to win it all! Baseball fans, get ready and excited for 2026!
