MAR. 1, 2021: On January 6th, 2021 thousands of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol to stop Congress from officiating the election. The Capitol was vandalized and five people were killed due to the mass hysteria of this event.

Personally, I wasn't surprised that something of this magnitude happened but of course, like any normal person, I wouldn’t have thought they could get into the building. This event was an obvious sign of the privilege these rioters have considering the behavior of the police and the way they treated the situation. But in some cases, I believe the police stood by while rioters walked into the Capitol building shouting and vandalizing, and even took pictures with some rioters showing their obvious support of the event. After what's happened I wouldn’t be surprised if precautions such as the current no-fly list for rioters will continue and that those who stormed the Capitol will be surveilled, some even taken to prison.
