Why Reading is Fundamental

Reading is fundamental because it is a gateway for learning anything about everything. I believe that reading is important for kids and people, in general. People should start reading at a young age, and also be read to, to offer them a visual of how they should be reading. For example, when someone is reading out loud, sitting straight, and enunciating clearly, a child will think, β€œHey this is what I should be reading, and how I should do it.”

When children see others doing something, they are going to start picking up on it and doing it too. This is why it is important that children see adults reading for fun as well! Kids need to be reading outside of school. If they see adults doing this, they're going to pick up on this habit. Eventually, they are going to start reading in their everyday life.

Reading is fundamental because it can help people build their language skills, build their knowledge about the world, and get them somewhere in life. Why do you think reading is fundamental?
