Mini Walk for the Homeless
On October 22, 2010, there was a mini walk for the homeless at our school, Friendship Southeast Elementary Academy in Washington DC. We learned about some people who once did not have a home but now they do because they are famous, like Tyler Perry, Halle Berry and the man from KFC. Our school walked for the homeless people all over the world who do not have a home to live in (but live on the streets or in a homeless shelter). In my eyes the meaning of the walk for the homeless was to raise awareness because we have a lot of homeless people right here in Southeast D.C.
The mini walk for the homeless was coordinated by Ms. Simmons and Ms. Bell at Friendship Southeast Elementary Academy .
