Marcus Goodwin

I’m endorsing Marcus Goodwin for DC Councilman At Large. He wants to let you know about the important issues affecting our city and what he’ll do if elected—starting with childcare. DC is one of the few cities that provide pre-school for free and will support the Birth-to-Three for All Act to ensure new parents get that extra support. But since Covid, budgeting has been tight. So he wants to commit to funding as much money as possible for the children of our city

Currently, he thinks it’s important to fund the maintenance of metro buses and rail.

Because the cost of housing is so high, Goodwin wants to help citizens who've been living in DC and paying all their bills for their entire lives so they won’t have to move. He will support the Housing Fund Trust and other programs that help our families keep their homes. 

And finally, social justice and police reform are issues that concern the majority of people in this city. Because some police officers end up killing people in situations that could have been avoided, he wants to transfer funds so we can bring in social workers and psychologists to solve issues without someone losing a life, specifically in the black communities. 

Vote for Marcus Goodwin. He promises to work on the council to fix ongoing problems in DC to make our district a better place to live.
