OCT. 10, 2017: Did you know most kids are nervous and a bit scared of the first day of school? Well, this year was different. Why? The eclipse was a big deal this year and all the excitement took place on the first day of school. Students were out of their seats looking out the windows and leaving the classroom to get a quick glimpse of the eclipse. They were able to use glasses brought in by the science teachers to protect their eyes. Once the glasses were on, everyone was in awe over the beautiful sight shown in the sky.
The eclipse is one of the best things anyone can experience in their lifetime. It was such a great learning experience and for it to take place on the first day of school was just the best thing ever! Some scientists predict that 2024 will be the next time the eclipse will come out. That’s a long time away, but for now, the school year has gotten off to a bright start!
