Tips to Help You Through Your 1st Year of High School
Story by Zhiyah Anderson.
OCT. 10, 2017: I always thought that people exaggerate about how being in high school is so much different from middle school and how the people you came in with won’t be the people you leave out with. I now realize that in high school you’re assigned much more work and tests every week, and they still want you to be in after-school activities and still have time to study. When I think about where I am now and how much time I have, I sometimes want to give up and I believe some of my peers agree with me. But during my first few weeks of high school and listening to students who have graduated last year I found out there are many steps you can take to survive high school and get through it successfully. Here are some of the tips that I have learned through my first weeks of high school.
Tip 1: Compromise. You need to be able to spend some time working on academics and also have some time to spend for yourself.
Tip 2: Whenever you need extra help outside of class, you can always go to tutoring or look up videos on whatever you need a better understanding of.
Tip 3: Don't be afraid to try new things. This is your first year of high school so you need to enjoy these last 4 years of being a teen.
