Who do you think should perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, Kendrick Lamar or Lil Wayne? In September, the NFL announced that Kendrick Lamar would be the 2025 halftime show headliner. Soon after, Lil Wayne expressed how heartbroken he was for not being picked for the job. The Super Bowl is being held in New Orleans, Louisiana, which makes Lil Wayne supporters even more eager for him to perform, seeing as it’s his hometown.
Although the NFL announced Kenderick Lamar as the halftime performer, music lovers are currently engaging in a social media battle about who should be performing at the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show. Many people think that Lil Wayne should perform, especially people from his home town of New Orleans, Louisiana. However, many people also feel with his accomplishments this year, Kendrick Lamar has earned his right to perform.
This all started when Lil Wayne announced how hurt he was when he found out he was not asked to perform. For some context, Wayne has been a part of the music industry for over 29 years. Every music artist dreams of performing their major hits during the half-time show. Sadly, Lil Wayne still hasn’t been granted the opportunity to perform.
Wayne and Kendrick both believe they deserve the spot. Although the NFL chose Kendrick Lamar, fans have pointed out he has performed before, he was a 2022 Super Bowl performer when he co-headlined with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Mary J. Blige.
In conclusion, I personally think that Lil Wayne should headline the Super Bowl this year. Kendrick has already co-headlined for the Super Bowl, it’s time for Lil Wayne to finally have his chance. On instagram Lil Wayne stated, “That hurt, it hurt a lot.” Not being selected to perform in his hometown not only bruised his ego, but hurt his feelings. What do you think? Should Lil Wayne perform or Kendrick Lamar?
