Story and graphic by A’Reyon Cunningham.

Covid-19 started in Wuhan, China when three people with pneumonia contracted the acute respiratory illness. What makes Covid-19 one of the most traumatic diseases ever? During the beginning of Covid-19, the number of people who died in China was 4,636 and the total of cases were 98,445.

The people in the United States who are being affected by Covid are families as well as individual people who don’t know they have it and continue to spread it, infecting more people. Folks who are still dealing with Covid are either on lockdown, taking a two week break from school, or can’t participate in certain activities.

Overall, millions of people died from Covid-19 even if they had the vaccination. The most recent number of cases in the United States is 80 million and the total deaths in the United States are 979,000. Worldwide the total number of cases is 487 million, and the total number of deaths is 6.14 million.
