Students’ Current Feelings Toward Upcoming PARCC Assessment

At Tech Prep, 9th and 10th  grade students are preparing for the upcoming PARCC assessment. In class, students prepare for the test by taking practice tests and participating in a mock PARCC testing week. However, students express various emotions toward the upcoming assessment.

While some students feel they are prepared and ready, some students feel stressed about the upcoming test. They might feel prepared because they have taken the assessment before and know how to apply previous skills. On the other hand, students may feel stressed about the test because of the expectation to perform well, which puts pressure on them.

Although there are mixed feelings toward the PARCC exam, teachers throughout the building are doing their best to help students succeed, and they are confident that students will do well.
