“Cuttin’ Up is Underway!”
Story by Tsion Cummings.
NOV. 15, 2016: Don’t miss our latest production. It is called “Cuttin’ Up”, a spin off from the movie, Barbershop. The play will be out on Dec 8-10 @6:45pm (feeder schools show on Dec 8 @10am. Matinee Dec 10 @1:45pm). Come out and support R.O.Y.A.L. Voices and the Fine Arts Academy.
R.O.Y.A.L Voices is an after school program at Friendship Collegiate Academy. The R.O.Y.A.L in ROYAL Voices stands for Readying Our Young Aspiring Leaders. This club deals with drama and all the fine arts performances. In fact, we have an upcoming play called “Cuttin’ Up”. The advisor for this club is Ms. Best-Nichols, A.K.A Mama Princess. We meet in her Drama room which is in the Fine Arts academy.
During our first meeting with the Ms. Best-Nichols we discussed the profits of the talent show. The Fine Arts Academy made over 700 dollars. But it was more like 200 dollars because of expenses, such as the DJ and other talent show costs. This is why snacks were sold at the concession. She began talking about why we raised money. For instance, we need academy money, so that we can fund the academy and have money for field trips during the school year and summer.
Tsion Cummings is a Freshman at Friendship Collegiate Academy.
