Hair is an important part of our identity, but there’s a lot we often don’t know about haircare, its history, and how to integrate it into our routine.

One of the first recordings of shampoos' existence comes from an Indian subcontinent known as the Indus Valley. This early shampoo was made of soapberries, such as sapindus, Indian gooseberry, and other herbs and extracts. Shampoos and oils are among the oldest hair care products around. Their roots can be traced back to the 17th and 18th centuries when people used dry powder shampoo. Yes, powder shampoos are a thing! They were commonly used by people and their exuberant wigs (you've seen them on TV, think Marie Antoinette).

Hair care products are what helps your hair grow and makes your hair look clean and fresh. Hair products can help maintain a healthy scalp by removing dirt, oil, and other debris that can clog your hair follicles. A clean scalp can also help prevent dandruff and other scalp conditions that can cause hair damage.

Try using hair care products from clean brands. This is because it is a basic requirement that most clean hair brands stick to not using parabens, sulfates, phthalates, formaldehyde, formaldehyde releasers, DEA, and ethoxylated ingredients. Also, when it comes to washing, there is too much. For example, shampooing twice would be too much if you are washing daily. However when your goal is to go as long as possible between washes, double washing is the best way to ensure that your hair is truly clean so it stays fresh for as long as possible while removing oil and product buildup.

In conclusion, hair care keeps your hair healthy, fresh, and clean. Hair products are what makes you, and your hair, feel better.
