News Brief By Braylon Wims. Photo by Zachary Walls.

September 29th, 2021. FCA’s varsity cross country team had its first meet against a plethora of schools like Washington Latin, DCSI, Kipp DC, Friendship Tech Prep (our sister school) and multiple other schools at the Kenilworth Track. FCA’s cross country athletes Braylon Wims, Jakari Powell, and Tylleal Bucannan had their times and places recorded as follows:

Jakari Powell: 31.45.55 31st place Braylon Wims: 41.56.06 48th place Tylleal Buccanan: 43.41.21 53rd place

As stated by Coach Richardson “It was great to see our cross country runners improving but we still have a long way to go.”

Cross country athletes run 3.1 miles. The race is officially called a 5k. For our first race as a team it was an interesting, exciting but nerve racking experience. It was honestly fun even with all of the little dips and divots in the grass.

Braylon Wims is an 11th grade scholar at Friendship Collegiate Academy.
