Hurricane Milton Creates Havoc in Florida

On October 8, 2024, around 6:30 p.m. EDT, Hurricane Milton, an extremely dangerous Category 5 hurricane, hit Florida. The maximum speed Milton reached was one hundred eighty miles per hour. Because of Milton, many homes were torn apart and people were killed.
Milton was a life changing hurricane for people that live in Florida. Many hurricanes occur in Florida, but this was one of the most awful and destructive hurricanes. The hurricane spawned a deadly tornado outbreak and caused widespread flooding in Florida. As of October 18, 2024, Hurricane Milton killed at least 28 people, and caused over $30 billion in damages. If you know people that live in Florida, you should check on them.
Hurricane Milton will always be remembered as one of the most dangerous natural disasters in Florida's history. In addition to the death toll and financial loss, the hurricane affected thousands of residents, leaving many without power, clean water, or access to resources for weeks. Emergency response teams worked 24/7 to rescue trapped individuals, provide shelter, and distribute supplies, but the devastation overwhelmed local resources.
