Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj Drama Explained

Who are your favorite female rappers? Popular names that might come to mind are Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion. However, have you heard of the sudden conflict that came between these two icons?

It all started at an infamous party at the home of Kylie Jenner, where Megan was shot in the foot by Tory Lanez, who was later sentenced to 10 years in prison. At said party, Nicki and Meg were talking casually over drinks—however Nicki was pregnant. Megan, at the time, didn’t believe her and encouraged her to drink, which upset and offended Nicki. 

Fast forward to the announcement of Nicki Minaj’s baby. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian sent Nicki flowers as a congratulation, which Nicki accepted gratefully, even posting pictures as a thank you. However, when Megan sent her flowers, Nicki responded negatively and even lashed out at her for it. 

A few days later, Nicki posted a picture of her foot, to make fun of Megan for having been shot. This is when things started to get heated. Megan responded to this by making a song titled “HISS,” which she released on January 26th, 2024. In this song she mentions a specific law—Megan’s Law. Megan’s Law is a law that requires information relating to those who are sexual abusers to be public. The reason she mentions this law is because Nicki Minaj’s husband is a registered sex offender, and her brother has been accused of sexual assault.. 

Outraged, Nicki responded back by releasing the song “Big Foot” on January 29th, 2024, which was very clearly meant to offend Megan. She touched on many things, such as Megan’s late mother, her rapping ability, and much more. This situation is sure to continue as more and more information is released.
