APR. 29, 2019: Ermias Asghedom, also known as Nipsey Hussle, is a well-known rapper from Los Angeles California. Hussle was a huge inspiration in his community who supported and defended many African American sisters and brothers. Nipsey Hussle was shot in front of his own clothing store, THE MARATHON in Hyde Park, California on March 31, 2019.

Nipsey was shot six times—five to the body and one to the head. He was killed instantly due to hate and obvious misconceptions. After shooting Nipsey multiple times, the shooter then proceeded to kick Nipsey in the head after he was already dead. Two others were shot at the time. Once Lauren London arrived at the hospital, she freaked out and began panicking, which was expected. However the news she was about to receive was very unexpected. She began asking others around her, “Is he okay? Is he going to be fine”?

“His soul was majestic,” were some of the many generous words Lauren London, Nipsey’s girlfriend mentioned in her homegoing speech for Nipsey. “He was the strongest man I ever knew,” she said in front of a crowd of 21,000 people who had gathered to pay their respects to Nipsey at the Staples Center in Los Angeles California.

He was an awesome young man who wanted to make sure he helped everybody. Nipsey was 33 when he passed away leaving behind two kids—one daughter and one son. He left so many memories behind. Ermias Asghedom’s spirit still lives on in many hearts. He will never be forgotten, but always missed. Rest easy, Hussle.
