FEB. 11, 2017: This year I was honored to be selected to the First Team Allmet Defense. Allmet consists of the top players in this area from both offense and defense. Players are deemed first team, second team, or honorable mention based on their performance during the season.

This year I had the best season of my high school career. I was named to the First Team Allmet  Defense because this year I was almost unblockable.  I finished the year with 23 sacks and 57 tackles. Accumulating double digit sacks on the season, I helped lead my team to the DCSAA Championship, which we won. In the championship game, I racked up three sacks and won MVP.

And, two of my teammates made honorable mention for defense: Aaron Walker, who plays safety, and Christian Braswell, who plays corner. They are both studs on defense. Aaron and Christian had pretty solid seasons, and have racked up about four offers total between the two over the course of the season.

In closing, after the 2016-17 season, Friendship Collegiate Academy had one player (myself) make First Team Allmet Defense, and an additional two (Christian Braswell and Aaron Walker) make Honorable Mention. This year, defense was one of our greatest weapons—helping propel us to the DCSAA Championship. Our defense posed several shutouts over the course of the season. It is evident that defense was the key to our success this year.

Vaughn Taylor is a senior at Friendship Collegiate Academy will be attending Naval Academy in the Fall.
