MAR. 9, 2020: During the month of February, Friendship Public Charter School held the City-Wide Black History Quiz Bowl to celebrate Black History Month. The team of students who represented the Woodridge Eagles was very proud to make it to the finals and they did some impressive work to get there competing against other teams citywide. They won the Middle School Quiz Bowl competition and during the finals were the only middle schoolers in attendance competing against all high school students for the trophy.

Despite not snagging the first place title, they ended in third place, losing by only four points to high school teams. We are very proud of our Eagles, who were able to keep up with high school students during the bowl. Despite the fierce competition, every participant kept their winning attitudes and grins on.

Congratulations to our amazing team of scholars, Akiya Brown, Chamiya Carnathan, Aniya Coffey, Miracle Agbeko, Chanelle Stephenson, Selina Duarte and Joey Elliott. And a big thank you to 5th grader Paris Dozier for hosting. Another big thank you to social studies teacher Ms. Durham for getting all our scholars prepared. For next year, Woodridge scholars are ready to study harder and build confidence to bring home the gold in 2021.
