Christina Henderson
I’m endorsing Christina Henderson for DC Council At Large because she believes your zip code should not determine your opportunity for success. She’ll fight for a more equitable DC for all residents...in every ward.
Due to COVID-19, many parents aren’t able to pay for childcare. Henderson wants to invest more in our community-based child development centers as well as give parents the opportunity to care for their children at home through the Birth-to-Three project.
Because metro fare has gone up over the past year to the point where the people who need it can’t afford it, Henderson will not only work to get money to help citizens who need Metro but will eventually make it free for DC residents.
Because many long-term DC residents cannot afford rising rents and taxes, they’re forced to move out of the city while wealthier white people replace them through the process of gentrification. If elected, Henderson will make affordable housing more diverse by giving families housing options like three to four-bedroom apartments by supporting the Housing Production Fund.
Police brutality is nothing new in the black community especially in the light of recent killings of black men and women. DC residents want a change in these police practices. If elected, Christina Henderson will create programs that will expand help to our people instead of relying on only police practices.
Vote for Christina Henderson! She’s ready to fight for an equitable DC where we can all come together.
