Hello everyone, I'm endorsing Markus Batchelor for DC Councilman at Large because he believes it's time for change—a more positive and beneficial change. The pandemic has caused financial issues including cuts to childcare programs like Birth-to-Three. Batchelor wholeheartedly supports Birth-to-Three and fully intends to fund the program and make it more affordable. 

While on the subject of making things affordable, if elected he’d like to provide money to DC residents for metro, bus, and subway.

Moving on, due to gentrification, more than 20,000 African-American residents have been displaced since 2000. Batchelor plans to invest in programs that provide affordable, family-inclusive housing.

With the recent incidents of police brutality, he believes that police reform is as needed as it is important. If elected Batchelor plans to create several programs that would improve safety in DC communities. Some of these programs would take money from policing and spend it on efforts to directly support people and provide them with greater resources.
