MAR. 13, 2020: On Monday, March 2, 2020, Tech Prep Titans celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday, also known as Dr. Seuss Day with Friendship Southeast Elementary. On this day schools around America participate by reading Dr.Seuss’s best books. Dr. Suess created children’s literature books that are very interesting such as Green Eggs and Ham and The Cat in the Hat. This day is all about engaging young kids to read more and have fun.
The Tech Prep Student Government voted to go over to Friendship Southeast Elementary and read books to the younger children in the morning. This was a great experience. I loved seeing how engaged the kids were. They loved the stories and rhymes. The books had some major tongue twisters! But I feel like the kid's favorite book was the Wacky Wednesday story. They were so excited to see the crazy pictures.
After reading to the students we had bookmarks to hand out. So to do that, we asked what was their favorite part of the story to see who was paying attention. All of the students were engaged and wanted to answer.
Dr. Seuss Day is a great event. It's really important to promote reading and engage kids into being excited about reading books. Dr. Suess is truly a great author who made great books and movies that people all over the world love and appreciate.
