MAR. 13, 2020: Friendship Tech Prep had a very exciting homecoming with events planned every day that the staff and students loved—a trap and paint, step show, silent party and even a lip-sync battle which was my favorite! Shout out to the 12th graders who put on an amazing show.
The week began with a spirit train which was a great way to begin. It was so adorable seeing the Southeast Elementary cheerleaders, dancers and band killing it with the spirit train. SGA handed out little accessories to the kids. And to add to the spirit students dressed up as old people and babies to add to the “circle of life”. Even the teachers participated and dressed as kids.
On top of that, we had a great lip sync battle with students putting on amazing shows for the staff and parents. We even had the parents and staff in the shows. Our 12th graders put on a great performance dancing to the song, “Cruisin for a Bruisin” from the Teen Beach Movie. Then we had a “Silent Party” which is a party where the students were able to wear headphones and switch through music from three different djay’s. I didn't attend the event but from what I've heard it was a very enjoyable event. Before the “Silent Party” there was a step show with many people doing amazing performances, They were also doing taco Tuesday at lunch.
Finally, it was homecoming day! The set up was so beautiful. The theme of the dance was “A Night in Paris”. Shoutout to the staff who worked so hard to set up the event. Our students came in great dresses and tuxes. Our guest performer was rapper, “No Savage”. You could say the students were very excited about that surprise, which made for a very fun night with great music. The night ended homecoming week. Next year will be even better!
