Innocent Black Life Taken

Story by C’Erra Andrews. Photo from www.myfoxdc.com

Our black lives are important. For instance, Terrance Sterling is another innocent black citizen who is now dead because of a caucasian cop. Terrence was on his way home from a bachelor party on 17th and U Street in Washington, DC around 4:20am on September 11, 2016. He was on a motorcycle when a police officer attempted to block his path. Terrence struck the side of the police cruiser and fell off his motorcycle. Before Terrence could get up, the police officer pulled out his glock and shot him in the side of his neck. When the police officer noticed where he shot him, he immediately ran to him and tried to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Terrence is now dead and his life is gone for no reason at all.

I’m sharing  this story because it is very important that we be safe in our city. Terrence Sterling was 31 years-old. His life is very important—just like each and every person in this world. As leading scholars, we have to be aware of our surroundings. Friendship and all Friendship scholars need to work together to stop this once and for all.
