Sports Build Character

Most people around the world love sports. People love sports because they are like games, or entertainment, for all people. Sports can make people happy. However, sports can also make some people sad- for example, if their favorite team loses, or if you are on a team and lose as a player.
If you are sad about a loss, but still congratulating your opponent on a job well done, that is showing good character. Sports teach you that it is ok to lose, and that you must learn from your mistakes in a game. If your team wins and you show respect to your opponents that lost, that also shows good character.
Basketball, football, and tennis are some of our favorite sports. Being a part of sports teams can teach people sportsmanship. For example, playing basketball, I learned you don’t argue with your opponents, but instead always remain calm and do your best!
In conclusion, sports help build character by teaching us how we should deal with emotions in a positive way, while having fun too.
