OCT. 18, 2017: Earlier this month on October 3rd, 2017,  Woodridge had the first Scholastic Book Fair of the school year. For one long week, the fair was a huge hit. The best sellers were Dork Diaries and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The book fair even had books and games for kindergarteners this year, but the largest sales were from 5th graders wanting how-to books to play Minecraft and Roblox.

The money raised each year is used to buy more books for the school’s library. Parents who were not able to visit the book fair got a chance to purchase items online. The book fair made a little over $1,400! This was a great way to start the school year off because most of the money raised came from parents who came out to the Back to School Night. With so much time spent on computers, it is good to see that kids still love books.
