This school year at Friendship Collegiate Academy, Mr. Geter’s urban garden class planted the seeds to grow produce to sell to the community. He said, “Back in the days you could play in the dirt for free but now you can get paid while playing in the dirt and have the students help by planting fruits and vegetables. It's cool, it’s fun playing in the dirt and I got the kids to help out and make it fun”.

According to a study by people.com, 51% of Americans finish up their Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve. Yeah, a whopping one day before Christmas. Never in my life, though, has this stopped companies from beginning Christmas sales and advertisements months before December starts. How do you spend the fourth Thursday of November? Many people spend Thanksgiving eating turkey and mashed potatoes, but that’s not always the case for everyone. On Thanksgiving my family and I rent a house near a lake and eat things like “pelinel” (pork shoulder) and “pan de jamon” (bread stuffed with things like ham, cheese, olives and raisins).
